Unlike a typical hotel, The Beaufort Inn has several stand alone cottages and multi-room options for families and group travel. Majority of our rooms on property have their own entryways and access, so you can rest easy knowing other guests will rarely be crossing your path. Since COVID-19, we continue to implement social distancing and frequent hand-washing. We are continuing to use quality Ecolab Cleaners and Disinfectants and are routinely cleaning all high touch areas.
Summertime in Beaufort, SC means long days spend at Hunting Island! Hunting Island Beach State Parkis the #1 State Park in South Carolina and has been voted the #2 Best East Coast Beaches by USA Today. As a guest of The Beaufort Inn, you can receive a complimentary beach pass to Hunting Island upon request. For just $2/person, you can climb the 167 steps to the top of the only publicly accessible lighthouse in South Carolina (although due to COVID-19, the lighthouse may not be operational during your stay). Fun fact, parts of Hunting Island were used to film the Vietnam Scene in Forrest Gump.
Family Vacations & Group Travel
This is the time when school is out and family & friends enjoy days of sunshine and evenings of laughter together. The Beaufort Inn has several room types available that accommodate families and large groups. The Beaufort Inn has a handful of stand alone cottages and suites. These are ideal for group travel. 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full living room and kitchen, washer & dryer (ideal for week long vacays), porches and patios, and steps away from shops, restaurants, nightlife, the waterfront park, and tons of fun downtown. Although Summer 2020 looks a little different this year, many downtown restaurants host live music. Port Royal is hosting a Community Beer Garden every Friday and Saturday from 4pm-8:30pm with local beer, participating restaurants that will deliver food to your table, and live music. There are also a ton of ways to explore and be active.
Spanish Moss Trail
Similar to New York City’s High Line, the Spanish Moss Trail is an outdoor rail trail connecting several parts of our beautiful city. Currently, the Spanish Moss Trail is nearly 10 miles long with plans to expand to 14. Walkers, runners, cyclycts, and roller bladers alike traverse the trail and take in gorgeous views of Beaufort. Guests of The Beaufort Inn have access to complimentary bicycles upon request.
Boating & Fishing
